“Franciscan peace is not something saccharine, it is the peace of Christ” 

In his homily for today’s mass in St. Francis Square in Assisi, Pope Francis commemorated the Patron Saint of Italy, offering oil for the votive lamp and praying for the Italian nation.

I give you thanks, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to babes” (Mt 11:25).
